I grew up in Mississippi and studied horticulture at Mississippi State University. Then I went to Columbia Biblical Seminary at CIU where I met my wife and majored in missions. We served with our 2 sons in Niger in agricultural development, church planting, mission administration, and hospital administration for 27 years in Niger Republic.

We were in a small town for 17 years in church planting. Here we built relationships with M*m people and discipled Christians.

For our last 8 years we worked in mission and hospital administration. During this time we partnered with another organization to build a center for fistula surgery adjacent to our leprosarium and health clinic. The fistula center was opened in 2012 with a 42 bed ward, 3 table operating room, lab, and administrative wing.

The leprosarium and dispensary were started in 1956 and 1969 respectively. We have 70 beds for long term patient care specializing in skin issues, i.e. leprosy and burns. The dispensary sees between 45,000 - 50,000 patients annually.

While I am not a trained medical person, I do have experience working cross culturally and in a hospital setting in the developing world.

During our years in Niger my wife home schooled our two sons and had ministries with women - both M*m & Christian. She also supported the hospital work by mentoring short term associates and providing hospitality for visiting teams.
