I'm a second year medical student at Indiana University. I have a desire to one day play a role in medical care in parts of the world that have much greater gap between their medical needs and capacity to meet them than we do here in the US, though God hasn't put any particular parts of the world on my heart as of yet. Even more than that, I desire to be able to bring the gospel to those who might otherwise not have the chance to hear it. At this point I am seeking a local mentor, but that person probably won't have any long term missions experience. I would like to have someone get to know me and challenge me to continue growing in my desire to serve the Lord in a cross-cultural context. I am foremost interested in surgery as a specialty. I love the idea of physically fixing things (I have an engineering background).
