Hello, I am Cassandra Whitley. I am 2007 graduate of Wingate University where I received a Bachelors of Science in Human Services. I began my career working in Mental and Behavioral Health. This field quickly opened my eyes to many social/cultural disparities in my home community and throughout the North Carolina that I was never aware of as a child. After more than five years working in this health field across North Carolina, I had a desire to address my love of medicine and science while still being able to work within specific social/economical factors, and at-risk communities. Public Health is a perfect match of these concentrations and I look forward to a career within this field. I am currently a graduate student at Liberty University earning a Masters degree in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health. Global mission studies as a child sparked an interest in learning about other cultures; it continues to be a passion to experience when I have the opportunity. I have enjoyed traveling to Europe during undergraduate school and on a medical mission trip in 2010. I greatly enjoy Latin and South American cultures and have participated in mission trips to Mexico and Ecuador. My hobbies include basket weaving, cooking and traveling of any length!
