Member Bio

I am a 65 year old Family Physician who works at Urgent Medical and Family Care in Greensboro, NC. I am married, father of 4, and an elder at Friendly Hills Church PCA. I have been involved in medical missions many years, doing regular short term missions to areas of the world others tend to avoid. I have had the opportunity to participate in acute disaster relief work in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, after the tsunami, as well as Haiti immediately after the quake. Other medical trips have involved Ecuador, Colombia, China, South and North Korea, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Sudan.

My regular calling involves working in South Sudan, where I serve usually on a twice a year basis delivering healthcare to rural villages in remote areas of an isolated tribe in the Lopit Mountains of Eastern Equatoria. We go under the auspices of Friendly Hills Church, loosely affiliated with the Diguna (German) mission and AIC (African Inland Church). We set up clinics under a tree in each village to deliver general care. Working closely with the missionaries, the clinics have helped to develop relationships in the villages which are helpful to the ministry work of the missionaries.
