I grew up as a missionary kid in Haiti and returned to the US with my family when I was in high school. During college and medical school I spent several weeks working at the La Gonave Wesleyan Mission Hospital in Haiti. In 1989 I started leading annual medical mission trips to Haiti with my husband who is an Ob/Gyn doctor. We have led close to 30 trips over the years involving students and practicing healthcare professionals. Four years ago I became the medical ministry coordinator for Global Partners which is the missionary branch of The Wesleyan Church. We have mission hospitals in Haiti, Sierra Leone, and Zambia as well as large clinics in India, Myanmar, and Papua New Guinea. I spend time working with the expats as well as the national healthcare workers with a focus on continuing education and cross-cultural healthcare ministry.
