Doug Fountain promotes health and wholeness and health system strengthening in the US and globally. He passionately supports locally-driven capacity building by advancing skilled technical expertise, leveraging appropriate medical and information technology, and promoting best practices based on monitoring and evaluation. He's an ideator and a connector, motivated by his faith.
Currently Doug heads the Operations Support team at Medical Teams International, a Christian global health relief and development agency. Previously, Doug served 8½ years with Uganda Christian University, a five campus system serving 12,000 students annually, where he established Health Science programs and improved planning University-wide. Doug is a research analyst at heart and has worked in consulting and with non profit organizations his entire career. He has published on strategic planning and program evaluation in behavioral health and higher education. He holds an MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and B.S. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Oregon.
