Member Bio

I'm president and founder of Caring Hands International Ministries and Medical Missions (chimamm.org). CHIMAMM has an 8 member staff at Mulago Hospital in Kampala Uganda where we round on patients daily. We organize rural mobile medical camps, build churches, medical clinics, and schools and sponsor evangelical outreaches to the unreached. I am a D.O. physician, board certified in Family practice, board eligible in Tropical Medicine and I have practiced ER medicine for the last 20 years. I travel to Uganda twice a year for a month each visit. We are attempting to develop a Family Practice Residency program at Mulago Hospital, build a primary school and medical clinic in Kasensero Uganda. I sit on the Global International Health advisory board of my medical school alma mater which is Des Moines University (DMU) in Des Moines Iowa. We facilitate bringing over Mulago medical students to DMU
for preceptorships. We are attempting to establish relationships with various US residency programs so foreign medical students can meet the application requirements for US medical residency programs. I am currently attempting to register with the CDC and FEMA to undergo their Ebola training program in order to travel to western Africa to help out with the Ebola crisis. I have two grown children, am single, love Asian food, computers, and always want to go to do things that 95% of other Christians think are too dangerous or difficult. I personally sponsor a private primary school for HIV orphan children in North Vietnam. Hoping to develop this outreach more in the future. I hope that by mentoring you, I can help convince you to be a 1%er that will go beyond attending mission conferences and discover God is with you even in the craziest places and the most difficult circumstances. As the old saying goes, "God can't steer a parked car." Please visit our website listed above for more information about our 8 year old ministry in Uganda Africa.
