After receiving my M.D. from Louisiana State University in 1995, I moved to Tulsa for specialty training in Family Medicine at In His Image. After training and working for several years and being the Associate Program Director at the In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program there, my family moved to the People's Republic of China to start a Christian Family Medicine Program in Macau. After a ten-year career as a medical missionary and program director in China, my family returned to the US to care for two of our children with special medical needs.

I have served in US and international clinics in both urban and rural locations. I have served with the Oklahoma University Department of Community Medicine and maintain an active Assistant Clinical Professorship at the Baylor College of Medicine. I have worked in many rural Emergency Rooms and am the Network Director of a growing number of faith-based Family Medicine training programs in China, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, The Horn of Africa, and Egypt through In His Image International.

My wife and I have six children ranging from ages 20 to 13. Three of our children are "home-grown" and three are internationally adopted. My wife Annette is the home-school teacher for all six of their children (which makes her job much more difficult than my work in the ER). Although we travel internationally each year, our family currently resides in Sand Springs Oklahoma.
