Born in Iowa, I have lived all over the United States. I spent 25 years in the high tech world before going back to school. I became an associate pastor and then a church planting senior pastor in California after leaving the high tech world. It was while serving in full time ministry that I had my first exposure to third world countries and dealing with disasters. I first went to St. Bernard's Parish after hurricane Katrina, and later to Haiti after their devastating earthquake as part of a medical response team. I was very touched by the poverty I saw in Haiti, but was moved the power of the Spirit and the spirits of the Haitian people. I came back from that experience physically, but my wife said I really didn't "return" for several months. I began to sense God leading me to leave the full time pulpit ministry to work with the issue of poverty and human trafficking. I traveled to India with a group from the United States where we entered into some of the slums in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai to better understand the reality of human trafficking and life in the slums of India. Shortly thereafter, God opened the door for me to become involved with a a start-up NGO. When that NGO had to close their doors due to funding, an opportunity opened with Medical Ambassadors International and I became their Education and Field Curriculum Coordinator, a position I have held for about 4 years.

I also serve as the VP of Operations for with Polymath Innovations, LLC, a digital creative agency that works largely with organizations doing morally significant work in the world.

I live near the Atlanta area, have been married for 46 years. We have three grown children and five grandchildren.
