I've felt called to medical missions since I was 15 years old and continue to pursue that calling. In 2007, I spent 2 months as a nursing student at Tenwek Hospital, Kenya, and have had a heart for Kenya ever since. After graduating with a BSN and minor in Missions and Cross-Cultural Ministries from Malone University in 2008, I worked for 2 years on a cardiac floor at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. I then went back to Kenya to serve for 1 year in the PACU and Community Health and Development at Tenwek Hospital. I recently finished Cedarville University's Global Health Ministries/Global Public Health Nursing graduate program. I plan to return to East Africa to pursue a full-time career as a medical missionary, hopefully doing public health work that focuses on community empowerment in a rural setting with the Maasai tribe.
