I'm a recent graduate from Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine residency (June 2013) who moved to Ghana in August 2013 with my husband who took a job with a research NGO called Innovations for Poverty Action (poverty-action.org). I have since completed the exams/licensing process as a Family Medicine Specialist in Ghana and have been officially employed by Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, a government teaching hospital in Accra, as of January 2014. My husband and I attended the Global Medical Missions Conference in 2011 but elected not to move overseas with a missions organization but rather for my husband's job.
