I was saved by the grace of God in December of 2014. In him, my life has found purpose. My baptism into the Christian church was on August 16, 2015 and God has put on my heart to serve his children. In December of 2015, watching news footage of the Syrian refuge crisis, I heard the words "Just Go". These were the same two words spoken at the GMHC in November that year. So I went. I have gone to Greece twice lending a hand to help with caring for and looking after the needs of 1000s of refugees. The majority of the refugees being women and children. My Lord and savior has continually touched my heart with compassion for those who are without home or even country. Even my bible study reiterates this message repeatedly. When King David fled from Saul, hiding in the caves, Psalm 59 Deliver me from my enemies, O god; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood.
The number of refugees in the world continues to grow daily. People who flee for their safety, for their lives- just as David did. Let us be a safe refuge for them any way that we can.
