My wife and I were lecturers at the Christian Leaders' Training College in Papua New Guinea for six plus years. The college was the at the highest level of evangelical education in the country.
I am currently developing an organization called MissionsConnections.
The goal of the organization is to equip missionaries who plan to serve in animistic cultures. The idea is to provide a solid biblical education for doctors who want to go to the field without having to attend a seminary after their medical training. We do not offer a seminary degree.
However, our goal is to teach our students how to rightly divide the Scriptures. In so doing we help them to learn the story of the Bible by connecting the Old Testament with the New Testament. There is another connection that we want to establish and that is to be able to present this information in an animistic culture through the use of story. Another benefit of what we do is our students will have a deeper understanding of animistic cultures.
The overall benefit of this approach is to help doctors to treat the whole person in the culture to which they are called.
