Dr. jim Stinespring (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of Religion and Chaplain at Alderson Broaddus University, Philippi, WV, a Baptist-related school. Previously he was a Baptist pastor in West Virginia. In his present position, he has organized and facilitated over 27 short-term mission trips to places that include Nicaragua and South Africa, internationally, and the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and Camden, NJ, within the USA. In addition, he has assisted students in finding volunteer positions in Nicaragua, India, The Dominican Republic, Haiti, Uganda, and other places. Alderson Broaddus University has developed working partnerships with AMOS Health and Hope (Nicaragua), UrbanPromise Ministries (Camden, NJ) and the American Baptist Men of WV Disaster Relief Team.
Dr. Stinespring has served as a mentor to many students who are testing a call to missions. His goal is to help students, who have a passion for living as citizens of the kingdom of God, learn to live out that passion in a global context.
Also as a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, Clarksburg, WV, he and his wife, Susan, share in the ministries of their congregation. Jim has two grown children, Jason and Sara (married to Matt), and two growing grandchildren, Aaron and Emily.
