Finishing my third year of medical school, considering general surgery or family medicine, still undecided. I could see myself doing surgery with an international focus and working to train national surgeons, but I could also see myself in family medicine in a more underserved area that doesn't have primary care. I'm a little conflicted. I spent about 5 months in the Republic of Congo before medical school and hope to go back during my fourth year electives.
