Medical Missions Coordinator- Buckner International. Coordinate Short term Medical Missions trips
Have worked in healthcare for 12 years as a Radiology Technologist and PACS project engineer in the US. Participated and led multiple short-term mission teams as a volunteer coordinator for a local churches that were primarily evangelism(VBS) and humanitarian aid based. I joined the Buckner family in the Spring of 2014 to begin working to grow the medical and health services aspect of our missions department to support our NGOs and the communities they serve through our Family Hope Center ( community center) model. We work in impoverished communities providing a holistic approach to take families from a crisis /unhealthy situation to sustainability in less than a year through our 4 core programs- Case management, Client Assistance, Health Services, Spiritual Development.
I would love to connect with others who have a medical missions program or who are working in the area of short term medical mission trip planning. We would like to learn from others who have implemented medical missions policy's and guidelines for their groups and any recommendations they have for medication purchasing to licensing and staying ahead of the latest in best practice. Looking for fellow laborers to wrestle with the question of how are we making the most difference from a health perspective and how can we do it better.
