I will be starting medical school at Michigan State University in August, 2016. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician and in the last few years, God has placed on my heart to go to the nations. I have spent some time in Thailand and Malawi and God has used those experiences to teach me about the need of sharing the Gospel as well as healthcare to other people.
I recently have gotten married and my husband and I are both finishing school. He is a computer science major. We are both open to following the Lord where He calls us and how He wants to use us. I just attended the Global Missions Health Conference where I learned that missions can happen right here in the United States. For now, we are not sure if God is telling us to go abroad or to stay in the States, but we desire to follow Him.
I would like a mentor because I think he/she would help me in hearing God's voice and determining where He is calling my husband and I. I also think a mentor would be a great encouragement, especially as I finish my education in medical school and then follow where God is calling me. They also could help me find ways to serve by connecting me with organizations and missions agencies. A mentor will also teach me about their own story and how they followed God which would be an added encouragement. I know that medical school will be difficult and time consuming and I think a mentor would help me keep God as my first priority when times are difficult. I also would like a mentor as God calls us to be accountable with other people and I think this would be a great opportunity for someone to help me grow closer to the Lord.
