I'm a family medicine trained physician, though I'm currently not working. I had to go on bed rest early on with my second child and quit my part-time job at a rural health clinic about 40 minutes outside of Fresno. I've subsequently chosen to stay home with our 3 young kids. I enjoy the relational aspects of medicine (more than the procedural aspects) and miss the interaction, but also feel it's a gift to be able to stay at home for this season. My husband is an adult infectious disease physician. We should have our student loans paid off in the next month and are both feeling a renewed sense of freedom and pull to medical missions. My husband was raised in Congo until 11, as a missionary kid with the Covenant church, and feels drawn to the area although we're both open to exploring any area of the world. I'd like a mentor to simply connect with someone who has gone before me on this journey and has godly wisdom and insight beyond myself. (As an aside, my husband Nathan Stockamp will also be signing up and looking for a mentor as well.)
