LifeNet International (LN) partners with primarily church-based health centers to build their medical and administrative capacity and connect them with pharmaceuticals and equipment. Our partner health centers’ staff are our stakeholders, beneficiaries and partners – all at the same time. By strengthening local capacity in every link of the healthcare delivery chain, we can transform primary care for Africa’s poor.
LN currently operates a franchise network of 60 faith-based health centers and hospitals in Burundi. These facilities provide primary health care for nearly 1 million patient visits per year in a country of roughly 10 million people. LN improves capacity and quality within its network by equipping management and medical staff with the training and equipment they need to deliver quality care.
LN’s innovative franchise bundle is designed to improve quality of care at all levels of health care delivery. This bundle is comprised of four program verticals:
• Medical Training
• Management Training
• Pharmaceutical Supply
• Growth Financing
By 2025, LN plans to double the quality of care received in 20 million patient visits to 1,000 franchised health centers operating in 10 sub-Saharan African countries. In 2015 and 2016, LN is expanding its franchise network to Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo
