I entered medicine as a career because of my desire to someday do mission work. Since starting school, I think that I have lost sight of how I went into this life to truly help God's people; so I am taking a year away from medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine to perform a year of health disparities research at The University of Chicago.
I'm looking for ways to integrate my faith into my profession in a manner that allows me to better care for and respect my patients and peers. My favorite things are cooking good food for friends, sunsets, and hearing people's stories.
I would like a mentor because I realized after this conference that I have been left with more questions than answers about how to effectively share the gospel with someone (I've never done it before), what it looks like to integrate my faith and career (as I previously mentioned), and what people's paths toward missions tend to look like.
If you have any suggestions or you'd like to share your story with me, I'm all ears!
