My name is Mitch Wolanin and I am currently a 22-year-old undergraduate senior within the Communication Sciences and Disorders major at Appalachian State University (Appstate/ASU) in Boone, North Carolina. Although originally from the Warren, Ohio region, I believe that the Lord was gracious in directing my path down to Appstate where He has graciously blessed me by plugging me in with the international student community. It has especially been within these relationships with the internationals that the Lord has shown me that He has a heart for ALL people, desiring all men to be saved (Genesis 12:2, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:1-4). I originally come from a Christian and Missionary Alliance (CAMA) background and through my time in college have gotten plugged into Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM).

I would like to use some sort of medical profession (such as speech pathology) to advance the Gospel and to be a conduit of God's grace and love to the nations, pouring out "grace upon grace" just as we have received (John 1:16). Beyond any affiliation or denomination though, my desire is to serve Jesus Christ with my life and if that is the case then that includes ALL of my life, including my job. I just want to be used by Him.

I have a passion to see the end of sex slavery and human trafficking and I believe the Lord has also been blessing me with a love for the Asian nations along with Muslims and those from East Asia (such as China and Japan). Last summer, I served in China with the lMB for a few weeks with the goal of sharing Jesus through intentional relationships with the college we were "enrolled" within while living in China.

I am currently looking into pursuing graduate school with hopes of afterwards pursuing missions in a more long-term context if that is what the Lord would have of me. If you can offer any advice or help then I would greatly appreciate it. I have so much to learn! Thank you so much and may God continue to bless you deeply and richly.
