Naji Abi-Hashem is a clinical and cultural psychologist, an author, a public speaker, an ordained minister, and a visiting professor. He is Lebanese-American who is involved in international service, training, writing, editing, conference presentation, volunteer work, church missions, consultation, global networking, seminary teaching, and caring for national ministers and caregivers. Formerly, a staff psychologist with the Minirth-Meier New Life Clinics and affiliated hospital program, conducting inpatient and outpatient counseling and therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups in the Seattle area, Washington (1992-2004). Also he was appointed as a Scholar in Residence at two Graduate institutions in Pasadena and Berkeley, California, USA (2006-08). He is Fully Licensed in the State of Washington. Dr. Abi-Hashem has taught or lectured at several universities, colleges, institutions, and seminaries in the United States and abroad. He supports local leaders and helping-professionals, especially those who are serving others on the front lines or under significant pressures. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. He is an Active Member or a Diplomate in a number of professional associations and international organizations and has served on Board of Directors of about 10 national and international organizations, mostly NGOs and non-profits agencies. Dr. Abi-Hashem writes and speaks on matters related to psychology, counseling, culture, social issues, religious worldview, immigrants-refugees, globalization, pastoral care, loss, grief, trauma, spirituality, fundamentalism, and radicalism. So far, he has made about 90 professional presentations at various scholarly conventions and produced about 90 publications (as in journals, books, encyclopedias, videos, essays). Currently, he is an Associate with Member Care International and divides his time between the United States and Beirut, Lebanon.
