As a Christian wife and mother of four children, I strive to serve the Lord Jesus through my service to my family, in my local church, and in my community in Wilmington, North Carolina, I especially like serving through our homeless ministry, and especially enjoy working with mothers and their children.
Before starting my family, I entered medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My dream was and still is to help people with their health issues, especially in light of the challenge of disease diagnosis and prevention in the incredibly complex human bodies that God so wonderfully designed. I graduated from medical school in 2004 and decided, through much prayer with my husband, not to pursue residency training at that time, but to devote my efforts to my growing family. I have been homeschooling my children for the last 12 years. With my oldest child graduating from high school this year, and the second to follow next year, I have felt that God is nudging me back into finishing medical training to serve Him through medical missions.
My husband and I are taking small steps of faith in that direction, as we think the Lord is leading. I would appreciate a female physician mentor who could help with the complex issues of serving the Lord in medicine with children and a husband who is not a physician.
