I am a follower of Christ who is an MD/PhD student in the University of Iowa Medical Scientist Training Program. I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Washington. I also worked for one year as a civilian associate research microbiologist for the U.S. Air Force.

God captured my heart for medical missions in seventh grade, when I learned about the major health needs of refugees in Sudan. As I entered my undergraduate years, I worked towards getting into medical school with the goal of missions in mind. This led me to medical research in microbiology as well as a mission trip to Indonesia. I decided to apply for MD/PhD programs when I saw the greater positive impact I could have on healthcare around the world if I received training in both medicine and science. I hope to serve in medical missions and medical research as a mission for the purpose of God's glory made known among the nations.

As a second generation Chinese Indonesian American, English is my first language, but I read, write, and speak Bahasa Indonesia at an intermediate level.

When I am not studying, I enjoy singing and composing worship songs, playing piano and guitar, reading, and playing sports.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." - Colossians 3:23-24
