Member Bio

I was raised in Germany and spent 10 years in the US as psychology student . In 1988, I graduated wih a Ph.D. from US Intl. Univ. Through an interest in member care, I began to work with several missions societies in counseling and training for the missions field. I see that missionaries spend much effort dealing with mental halth issues but are mostly unprepared or poorly trained. I started teaching psychology and counseling at a Missions Theological Seminar and in 2011 became Professor of Psychology and Counseling at the "Liebenzell International University of Applied Sciences", associated with the Liebnzell Mission. In 2015, we hosted the first international conference on "Global mental Health and the Role of the Church" with speakers from 4 continents and participants from 19 countries. In cooperation with the Institue for Care and Counsel at Belhaven University, Jackson MS, and in association with the Lausanne Movement Care and Counsel group, I am researching global mental health issues and training missionaries.
