Member Bio

My heart's desire is to work with children, orphans, and trafficked people in Eastern Europe, specifically the former Yugoslavic countries and the Balkans and the ME. I also want to spent time teaching and training HC workers. I have 3 years of service in the NHSC, but hope to take a least 1-3 short term (2-4 week) trips between now and the end of my service. I also feel drawn to working in the ME and love that i am in the suburbs of Detroit. In my first year of practice after residency, this last year, I saw patients from over 30 different countries. My heart for missions, God brought me here and has brought the world to me!

I worked in public health before medical school, focusing in Maternal and Child Health, specifically teen pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, vaccinations and healthy starts for children.

My long term dream career would be working as a director of a school-based health center as well as seeing patients and spending 1-3 months a year overseas doing what I described above.
