At the age of 16 y/o, in 1985, God gave me a passion for India shortly after I submitted my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. 18 years later in 2003 God connected me with a woman who encouraged my passion and prayed me into my first trip to India. I went solo, for two months, with the Holy Spirit and had an amazing time meeting the people and sharing the love of God. In 2004 I was privileged to return for only 2 week. After that trip my life dramatically changed financially and in many other ways so my mind put India far away.
This past April 2012 I was shocked to have a woman who I barely know come up to me and say that God told her to give me $1,000 toward a ticket for India. I have not had a job for a year and it was a blessed gift to have this encouragement from our Father God. In a short three week time period I was able to obtain a passport, visa and ticket and prepare for a trip.
One eve at worship before I left I had a vision about Kolkata. I spent almost 3 weeks in Kolkata. I spent time in the School of Nursing and some time with the pastors and nursing supervisor of Mercy Hospital in Kolkata. There were many Holy Spirit planned encounters and miracles in regard to my health and strength for ministry as the temperature was 113-115 degrees with 50-75% humidity.
The last eve in Kolkata I had a wonderful get away with a student's family. Her Mom had had the same vision I had of Kolkata 24 years ago. At that time she was also prophesied over and instructed to get an accordian to use in ministry. This woman is a pastor in a town near Kolkata. Before leaving the U.S. the Lord told me to take my accordian. Long story short I took it after much consideration as it is heavy and large. It became a donation and an answer of 24 years of prayer to a woman of God who ministers to slum children!!! That eve and the woman's testimony are very similar to my own. She has given permission to share portions of her testimony and a couple pictures.
These are the words of the pastor and her son-in-law who is a Hindu background believer.
"Both the picture shows the love of Jesus,Both have seen same vision for his kingdom,One is from California and one is from west Bengal (INDIA),This is their first meet,but feel the spirit of unit with a common vision what sister get few years before.Amazing time …..both prayed and shared their vision.
Testimony
She was born and raised in kerala (south India, which some Indian called as God’s own country), she was brought up in Hindu Brahmin, Nair family(the top dog caste in India.).
She was the third girl into her family, her parent was a very prosperous Hindu she was also a Idol worshipper. Her elder brother was a strong leader of RSS(one Hinduism protection group in India).She was also a great devotee of Hindu idol. Her father died when she was 4 years old ,it was very difficult to her mother to take care five kids. Many days they had nothing to eat. Day by day her elder sister and brother started work and support to the daily expenditure.
In south India(kerala) girls have not so much freedom as boys, always girls have to obey all the guidance of elders as a house maid, same life she followed upto her teenage.
During her schooling she was suffering from poly arthritis (joint pain),always had headache. her mother was unable to afford the medical bill. She went to so many temples, witch craft for her healing but didn’t get the result. Day by day it affected her whole joints and she was unable to stand /walk.
JOURNEY BEGINS IN JESUS:
When she was 16teen years old she got a Christian magazine. she went through so many stories in that magazine, some stories were related to her life and she felt very close to those stories. Again and again she went through that magazine. By reading that magazine she felt comfort and her believe in Jesus was born from her heart. Some healing testimony gave her hope to healness. Henceforth she started prayer to get the healing. she was blessed and day by day she healed.
Since that day she started her journey in Jesus , arranged a bible to read .
Once her elder brother saw the bible with her and began to persecute her. Not only that he also threatened her to kill. her mother was trembling with fear and took Abigail to her friends home to stay for few days.
At there she got into touch with a Christian family(neighbour of mother’s friend) and started to attain church service. She developed herself in JESUS. But someone informed her mother about her growth in Jesus. Very next day she came and took her back to home.
PERSECUTION:
When she reached all of her family members began to persecute her .Once her brother and mother dragged her out of house and cast her into public road and began to beat her like an animal. They publicly humiliated her. Her mother turned her bible into several peaces and put it into fire. she was crying and unable to save the bible from burning fire.
After a few hours she found a peace of paper(90 %) burned from the spot where the bible demolished. That was a part of PHIL:1:21
“for to me to live is christ and to die is gain…….”
By reading this she decided
“he gives me a new life, if he wants I’ll die for him, and if Jesus want I’ll live for him”
LEAVE HOME WITH HIS SPIRIT AND COURAGE:
In the age of seventeen she decided to leave her house .In India it is very difficult for a young lady to leave home, but lord spoke to her..
“psalm27:10
When my father and my mother forsakes me, then the Lord’ll take me up” (This is a very similar testimony for the CA lady and the same verse that sustained her at the age of 20 when she left home).
She took all her luggage and went to a Christian family whom she knew before. That aunty took Abigail to her friend’s house. She stayed there for seven months and developed her spiritual life. Her brother was searching to kill her, that aunty was also in fear. But Lord always told her “I am with you….nothing will happen”
