As a physician trained in both Psychiatry and Family Medicine, I am interested in
1. networking with other mental health professionals at home and abroad
2. teaching primary care providers to provide mental-health care that is competent, sustainable, and culturally-sensative, in their home culture.
3. improving and advocating for mental-health care both at home and abroad. In many ways the mentally ill are an "unreached people group" or "the third world of the U.S.," and I would like to be part of the church's response to this.
On that note, I'm also interested in joining (or starting) a primary care practice structured in such a way that allows it's providers to spend significant portions of time overseas (4-6months) in a rotating fashion. Anyone interested?
