Debbie Dortzbach

Member Bio

Deborah Dortzbach is a nurse specialist in international public health and child health. She presently holds the position of Director of Health and Social Development at World Relief in Baltimore, MD. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in HIV/AIDS program development and leadership in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean and resided 24 years in Kenya and one year in Eritrea. She guided the development of eleven new country programs in Africa and Asia which included reproductive health and HIV prevention. Her position as Director of Health and Social Development at World Relief involves the technical oversight of programs in twelve countries, including USAID funded programs in maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, child development, adolescent health, and anti-trafficking. She was one of the core members of the Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST). Deborah is a graduate of Columbia University (BSN), and Emory University (MPH and MN) and now lives in Baltimore with her husband, Karl. She is a mother of three and a grandmother of ten. She is deeply nurtured by her local community of faith-- Faith Christian Fellowship of the Presbyterian Church of America.
