About the organization
Organization
Buwambo Health Center IV, is a government rural health facility in Wasiko District, in Uganda, Africa. It serves as the referral health unit for 14 other rural health units in Kyadondo North Health Sub-District. We are only two medical doctors in the entire health sub-district serving over 300,000 people and giving support supervision to the 14 lower units.
There are enormous challenges here ranging from lack of diagnostics for malaria, TB, HIV, medical supplies especially drugs, low staff motivation, non-operating maternity theater, lack of medical equipment, dormant adolescent clinic. Every day I handle 2-4 cases of either defilement and adolescent pregnancy or assault. Major diseases here of public concern are malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, HIV, TB, Diabetes, hypertension, maternal issues, neonatal conditions among others. We welcome any volunteers at any time to help us serve and also design our Health Services Quality Improvement Program(HSQIP) to address the above issues.
