Centro Maya Project

Centro Maya Project began with a visit by Jeanne Nakamaru to the town of San Juan La Laguna, Solola to provide speech therapy to children and adults. It became apparent that many families were suffering from malnutrition, unclean water and untreated medical conditions. Centro Maya Project began with food assistance and has grown to support programs through direct services (providing used hearing aids to individuals, employment opportunities, and medical assistance), HOPE-Helping Other People Eat (monthly food assistance for families, organic garden plots, water filtration) Mainstream Education (tuition support and educational aides for children with disabilities that want to attend public schools and a lending library) and Micro Loans.
