Grace Medical is the U.S. based trustee board for Grace Evangelical Hospital, a surgical mission hospital due to open soon in Nampula, Mozambique. The board was established in 1999 by Grace Missions to take oversight of its medical-evangelistic ministry after the Mozambique government authorized the mission to build, own, and operate its own hospital in Nampula, second largest city of the nation with a population of 400,000. Grace Missions had been providing surgical care from a rural government hospital since 1990, but the mission's involvement in Mozambique actually goes back to 1985 when Mozambique was declared the nation with the highest level of human suffering in the world.
