Through facilitated discussion, HIVHope International empowers people to create their own messages and approaches to HIV education and ministry that are based on a deep understanding of their culture. This is accomplished primarily through five-day seminars during with participants are encouraged to examine their culture to find ways to motivate people to healthy life-choices. Through almost sixty seminars facilitated in 21 countries on four continents, empowered participants are now educating the people in their cultures, ministering to their needs, overcoming stigma and discrimination, and, through all of this, reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Seminars are always hosted by local people who recognize the impact that a thorough, Bible based understanding of HIV can have in their setting. They come to see that the role of Christians is to reach out in love to people, both those living with HIV and those who are not infected but affected by the virus.
