About the organization
Organization
Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) is the Kentucky resettlement office for two national voluntary agencies: Church World Service (CWS) and Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM). In 1995, KRM was selected as a site for resettlement of Haitian and Cuban cases and continues to work with Cubans. In 1998, KRM opened a satellite office in Lexington under a Preferred Communities Grant and became an official sub-office in 1999.
Through CWS and EMM, Kentucky Refugee Ministries is authorized by the US State Department to assist people who have been identified as refugees by the United Nations and legally admitted to the United States. Since 1990 KRM has placed over 15,000 individuals, representing 50 different nationalities and ethnic groups, in various Kentucky communities. KRM settles all refugees without regard to race or religion.
