About the organization
Organization
Lower Lights Christian Health Center was started in 2002 in response to the lack of access to quality health care in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, OH. In Franklinton, nearly 90% of the population is either uninsured, or underinsured. Dr. Dana Vallangeon had felt a call to medical missions when she was 16, and knew that she was being called to do so in the United States. In the 10 years since opening, LLCHC has grown tremendously. Today, there are 56 employees of LLCHC, and there are 7,000 patients that use LLCHC as their medical home. Services include primary care for the whole family, chronic disease management, pre-natal care, nutritional services, enabling services, behavioral health, and spiritual care. Our mission has continuously been to share the love of Christ through high quality health care to all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay.
