Mercy Medicine Clinic

Our organization was founded by a group of compassionate physicians who realized that low-income individuals would reject medical care and/or taking life-sustaining medication due to lack of funds. On October 25, 1994, the first clinic was held at local soup kitchen. Patients received free health screenings and, in a short time, sample medications were available to aid in the treatment of illnesses. Today, our services included primary medical care, limited dental services, gynecology, orthopedic care, and pharmacy services. Mercy Medicine Clinic is operated by the community. Currently, there are over 130 volunteers who assist in clinical functions. Physicians and nurses frequent the clinic during to diagnose and treat patients. Five dentists and two dental assistants provide extractions and treat infection and pain in order improve our patients' oral health. Our volunteers also include: retired citizens, college and medical students, and various professionals.
