About the organization

Organization

In January 1988, the Spurrier family, Tim, Doris, Joe & Amy, packed their dreams & belongings into a ‘72 Ford pick-up. They drove 5 days thru the U.S., Mexico, & into Guatemala. Before this, Doris & the children had never been outside the U.S. However, when they crossed into Guatemala, Doris looked at Tim & said, “I feel like we’re home.” For the next 6 years, the family served in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala & founded New Covenant World Missions. In 1996, Tim & Doris relocated to the Petén jungle. Over the next 10 yrs., they raised funds & worked with local leaders to build Hospital Shalom, a superior general hospital in a remote area. In addition to meeting medical needs, NCWM shares the love & kindness of Jesus Christ thru personal ministry, Bible studies, prayer services, & leadership opportunities. By providing healthcare for the body, education for the soul, & hope for the spirit, our goal is to enable the wonderful, Guatemalan people to reach their full potential.
