The name 'Omer' comes from a story in Exodus 16 where the Lord provides for the Israelites in a miraculous way. Each morning He provides a bread, called manna, which covers the entire ground like the morning dew. But the Lord not only provided the gift of manna, he also instructed the Israelites on how to be good stewards of His gift to them by having them collect only enough manna for the day; an omer at a time. We know how challenging it can be to prepare for a medical mission, like figuring out what you need to take, purchasing supplies, determining the best way to get your supplies to your destination, and last, but not least, managing your clinic and dispensing supplies in the field. In 2011, our founders, decided that they needed to find a better way to plan and conduct medical outreach. Exodus' example of stewardship is at the heart of Omer Medical Logistics. Our purpose is helping medical missions teams gather and use exactly what is needed for each medical outreach.
