A staff of over 700 Kenyans and missionaries provide services not only within the hospital but also in a expansive community health network. Long term missionaries serving at Tenwek are appointed under World Gospel Mission with headquarters in Marion, IN. Short term missionaries serve at Tenwek from a number of organizations and institutions with the requirement that all volunteers be committed evangelical believers. Advanced services available at Tenwek include a CT scanner, a hospital wide digital xray access system (PACS), total joint replacement surgery, open heart surgery camps, comprehensive HIV/AIDS care clinics, complex retinal/corneal surgery, and others. Tenwek is a leader within the Christian Hospital Association of Kenya (CHAK) and partners with several institutions/organizations internationally to provide training and high quality services.
