I left for Turkey in 1994 and spent 11 years in teaching English, starting Bible Studies, encouraging Christian Communities and answering questions of Bible Correspondence students.
My last 3 years were on the Black Sea in a beautiful city named Samsun. My heart sometimes feels like that is my hometown. A Turkish pastor asked us to move there to help a fledgling fellowship which was developing around a Turkish doctor and nurse. No other expatriates were present, Thus began three joyously difficult years. Our fellowship fell apart but praise the Lord that another one was birthed through others' efforts. Our contribution was to love and to trust the Lord to do what he wanted.
I studied at Trinity School of Ministry from 2005-2007, getting an MAR in Biblical Studies. I didn't grow up in a Christian home and this time served as my chatechesis, my basic training in theology and doctrine. Grace became the song of my heart as the Lord put back the pieces of his life.
David began as strategy coordinator, mobilizing outreach in the US for a region in Turkey. Work was difficult from 2008-2012 with many mistakes and detours. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness in continuing to call and energize David for the impossible task of initiating a Church Multiplication Movement among the most unreached.
